Home » Youth Awareness Day 2025

Thursday, 16th October
Theme: “Blue for Youth”

A youth led county-wide initiative spearheaded by the High Sheriff of Shropshire, Jane Trowbridge.

Youth Awareness Day is a powerful new campaign designed to spotlight the needs and potential of young people across Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin.

Launched by Jane Trowbridge, High Sheriff of Shropshire, and led by the young people of the county this initiative encourages schools, businesses, and the wider community to come together in support of youth-focused causes.

Jane’s commitment to youth development and community resilience lies at the heart of this movement, aiming to drive both awareness and action.

Young people are actively involved in every stage of the Youth Grant from shaping the vision and selecting recipients to monitoring the projects ensuring they remain at the heart of the campaign.

“Blue for Youth” – A Day of Unity

On Thursday, 16th October, schools across the region will wear blue as a symbol of solidarity and hope for the next generation. Students and staff are encouraged to wear a blue item of clothing and make a small voluntary donation to support youth charities and local initiatives.

Extended Enterprise Challenge

Schools can also take part in an Enterprise Challenge a longer-term fundraising project that empowers students to design and run their own mini ventures.

From selling handmade goods to organising events or providing services, the challenge is ideal for integration into business studies, enrichment programs or extracurricular clubs. Schools will be recognised for innovation, teamwork, and overall impact. Selected schools may even receive an official visit from High Sheriff Jane Trowbridge to celebrate their achievements.
