Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin. With a growing need for skilled professionals across construction, engineering and technical roles, The Dodd Group Fund aims to deliver a targeted Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) engagement programme across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin. This is designed to inspire young people, especially young women, and under-represented groups to explore careers in science, technology, engineering and construction. The project will provide hands-on workshops, digital skills sessions and career-focused engagement activities, combining practical learning with real-world industry insight. Example activities include:

• Interactive engineering challenges
• Digital literacy workshops
• Site or workplace engagement where appropriate
• Delivery of mentoring or careers talks.

The programme will prioritise accessibility, ensuring participants gain exposure to STEM pathways while developing confidence, problem-solving skills and awareness of local employment opportunities.
Following the Women in Construction Week earlier this month, the aim is to attract young girls and women into the sector.
