Bridgnorth Aluminium Community Fund
The Bridgnorth Aluminium Community Fund aims to improve the wellbeing of individuals across Shropshire by addressing loneliness, social isolation, and barriers to community engagement.
Bridgnorth Aluminium is a major employer in Shropshire and the UK’s only fully integrated aluminium coil rolling plant. With over 300 employees and a long-standing presence in the region, the company plays a vital role in the local economy and community. As a member of the Shropshire Investors in Community network, Bridgnorth Aluminium is committed to corporate social responsibility and actively supports local initiatives that enhance community wellbeing.
This £15,000 grant fund will support voluntary/community organisations delivering targeted initiatives that increase social connection, strengthen outreach provision, and improve access to support for those most at risk of isolation.
Projects should aim to reduce loneliness and isolation and improve wellbeing through one or more of the following:
- Community groups, social activities, and safe spaces
- Outreach and engagement programmes targeting isolated individuals
- Befriending services (face-to-face, telephone, or digital)
- Transport initiatives improving access to community activities
- Digital inclusion projects reducing social disconnection
- Intergenerational activities connecting different age groups
Projects that demonstrate strong community partnerships and sustainable impact will be prioritised.
By investing £15,000 into local organisations, The Bridgnorth Aluminium Community Fund will strengthen outreach support, build social connections, and improve wellbeing for individuals across the county, ensuring that fewer people feel isolated and more communities can thrive.
