New High Sheriff of Shropshire joins Shropshire Community Foundation as Honorary Trustee

Shropshire Community Foundation are delighted to announce Brian Welti JP, the newly appointed High Sheriff of Shropshire for 2024-2025, as an honorary trustee for the next year.

We are very pleased to be welcoming Brian to the foundation, his experience and insights will be invaluable as he offers feedback on the amazing community and charity work taking place across the county.

On April 5th, Mr. Welti was officially declared High Sheriff at Shrewsbury Crown Court.

Brian’s focus for his Shrieval Year is to support RABI (Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution). As Brian explains “I want to do all I can to help The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution. Shropshire is a very rural and agricultural county and because of my own interest in farming, I want to emphasise the work they do and raise awareness of the issues faced by the farming and rural communities which are often hidden or misunderstood”.

The foundation is looking forward to working closely with Brian over the next year and we hope that, together, we can make a huge impact on the communities across Shropshire.
